Land of the Rising Sun Whiskey Tasting
Japanese Whisky, like American Whiskey, has had a surge in growth making it hard to find , as well as, hard to understand all the new distilleries. We thought why not have a taste of Japan and compare the different processes, along with the different stills. We will taste a new release from Kaiyo, aged seven years in Mizunara oak and then finished three years in French oak. Then, we will take a visit to the Hikari Shinzo Distillery and taste some of their amazing 12 year old whisky aged in sherry casks. Then, a visit to the Kurayoshi Distillery for some Matsui Single Malt Peated Whisky that is soft, yet has a bold finish. The final stop will be Fukano Distillery where they use rice in the distillate process to create amazing whisky . We will taste a limited edition to celebrate Women Who Whisky, a tribute to Chizuru Fukano. This whisky is aged in three independent casks and then blended together… simply amazing! So, with that said, come enjoy whisky from the Land of the Rising Sun in the Cellars Friday, June 2nd at 6:30pm, as we taste delicious styles of Japanese whisky. There will be no refunds due to limited seating.
